Welcome to my blog! Today, I’m excited to share my experience with the One Word Film project, where I focused on the theme of "anxiety." This project challenged me to express complex feelings about anxiety through visuals, allowing me to explore my creativity and emotions.
I chose "anxiety" because it’s something many people can relate to, including me. I wanted to show how anxiety appears in our lives—like feeling uncertain, having racing thoughts, and struggling to find calm. I started with a brainstorming session, writing down ideas and scenes that could illustrate these feelings.
To organize my thoughts, I created a mind map that connected different aspects of anxiety, similar to feelings we have in a classroom. This helped me see possible storylines.
Next, I moved on to storyboarding. This step was really important for planning my film. By sketching each scene, I figured out camera angles and how to make the emotions come across. For example, I used close-ups to show intense feelings and wider shots to depict isolation. This made filming more focused and efficient.
During the editing phase, I used Adobe Premiere Pro, which had great tools for enhancing the film's emotional impact. I also played with color grading to create a somber mood, highlighting the story's emotional weight.
Looking back, I’m proud of how I communicated the theme of anxiety through visuals and sound. However, I noticed some scenes felt rushed, and I wish I had taken more time to refine the pacing. In future projects, I want to focus on this to create a better experience for viewers.
In conclusion, the One Word Film project was a valuable exploration of anxiety. It helped me express my artistic vision and connect personally with the theme. I hope my journey encourages others to share their own stories through film. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences in the comments!
